Devout Dirtbag
Thank you everyone for all the help in rebuilding Jake's two bikes. All the help is greatly appreciated.

I am close to completing Jake's 1993 Marin Indian Fire Trail but still could use the following if anyone has some they are willing to sell:
- Answer A-Tac Stem (black preferred) 1 1/8 threaded
- FOUND - - - Tioga Psycho Tires
- Blue Pulstar hubs
- Onza Mongo 2 headset, 1 1/8 I have one on here but the internal rubber bushing piece is all corroded out and has a couple mm of play now.

Thanks again for everything. . . I will be posting pictures once I get everything together.

Josh

I also forgot, I am needing a gripshift esp 900 xray if anyone has one available for sale. This is for Jake's 96 Alpinestars.

thanks,

Josh

UPDATE - I HAVE FOUND THE SHIFTER NEEDED

I thought the ESP was the follow on to the 800-Xray (which were clear and later smoked).....

The designation for the see through one was SRT-800 X-Ray

ESP was the SRAM / SACHS style that came later and needed an ESP mech as they were no shimano pull ratios...

1993 Marin Indian Fire Trail - Jake Watson Rebuild: UPDATE

Hey everyone, I haven't been very diligent on updating here. Actually, the last month or so was rather busy work wise and so the bikes took a back seat. I have the wheels being built with Jones Precision Wheels in Santa Barbara and once I get those, new cables and housing will complete the bike! The AC Cranks I was able to get redone, near matching color, two tone custom anodize job like Jake had.

Here are a few photos of the parts going on it. It is going to be a fun bike! Thanks again to all those who helped with parts and advice!!!

Check out Earthquake Jake watson facebook page if you want more regular updates.

Josh

Re: 1993 Marin Indian Fire Trail rebuild - EARTHQUAKE JAKE

Dear Retrobike Family-

So after a lot of searching, the generosity of many, the 1993 Marin bike that Earthquake Jake Watson raced is together. The bike still needs some shifter and brake adjustments, the front Manitou 3 fork are a little stiff (not sure I am getting all 2.5" of travel out of it), and at some point I hope to find an 8 speed cassette to replace the 7 speed on here. Regardless, the bike is great! A big thank you to all who helped this bike come back to life!

It is amazing to think that Jake raced in dual slalom was this large. . . I believe it is a 19 inch frame! Cannot wait to get it dialed in and on the trails shortly!
