1993 Kona Kilauea Restoration

Forks are back and have been fully stripped and re-built.

Frame will be ready within the next 2 weeks! Then it wont be long until the fun starts and I can get the full bike built up!

Re:

Forks are all wrong for the look and geometry of a '93 kona, get some project 2's, pace rc35 or a manitou 2/3/4 fork instead and this will be sweet! :D

It might work with a super short stem, but the axle crown on the forks are going to jack the front up a lot. Might not ride that well. Try it and see though.

Steel framed kona goes so well with project 2s, i'd stick them on personally.

Re: seat post

Hi john,

Where did you buy your seat post from? I need a new one after destroying mine.

Any pics of the painted frame yet?

Mines in at the moment can't wait to see what it comes out like.

:D

Hi Jim,

I was lucky to find the seat post on Ebay, not seen them for sale in ages.
Hope you like the pics of the frame

Cheers, Jon

Well, its been just over a year since I started the strip down and restoration of my bike, but it finally finished. Managed to get these pictures of the final result just before it started raining, Bike is safely inside now!

Thank you to all who gave advice on here, its been much appreciated.
