1993 Kona Cinder Cone

Love '93 frames. This green is wonderful. My buddy will go all misty eyed when I show him, as he had this model and year bitd.
I'm with you on not spending much time polishing... I didn't do ANY on my last build haha. Probably won't on any others currently in the pipeline either.

Had a bit of time this evening so tackled the brakes. I've yet to find a Kona Dog Collar so in the absence of any better ideas I bought a Surly Cable Hanger for the rear. It all looks a bit Heath Robinson but it does work. The Green Onza Chill Pills are a great colour match, unlike the cable ends.

I'm hoping this solution is temporary. The search for a Dog Collar will continue...

Also rust on canti bolts needs sorting

Pretty much done for now I think. I'll be keeping an eye out for a Kona Dog Collar and will probably replace the pedals but otherwise I'm pretty happy.

Out of interest I weighed the bike today. It was a shade over 25lbs which is nearly 1/2lb lighter than in the catalogue.

I wonder if the weight specified is with the Project 2 or Quadra forks

I've waved goodbye to the Surly hack after finally tracking down a Dog Collar. Order has been restored.

Replaced the Kalloy seat post with a nice USE aluminium with a new decal.
