Okay, Koga brochures. The point with Koga brochures is they do not fit my scanner. They are huge, pretty impressive brochures. Always gloss black cover with (most often blue) 'Koga Miyata' and 'The quality people in cycling' on it. The brochure definately is developed with the aim to breath quality. Anyone who has ever seen one knows probably what I mean.

This 1993 brochure came in two parts. One part with the bikes and one part with specs. Most recent brochures even included a DVD.

As the Koga brochure doesn't fit my scanner, I scanned each bike seperately. Koga offers much more than only MTBs (Koga is actually way bigger in the segments Racing, Touring, Randonneur). I decided not to scan the full range, but the MTBs and a few more.

Though lower specs this bike was 100 guilders more expensive (4395 instead of 4295) than the above TrailRunner. Because of the titanium of course.

Nice frame, but it made this Exage bike more expensive than many XT competitors.

ForeRunner

Hardtlite FM1, brazed with lugs
Hardlite FM1 fork
500LX

Pretty much similar to my 88 ValleyRunner and the Ridge Runner H-Ball wun the DH Worlds in 1990 with. Of course some modifications like larger head and shorter stays.

FullPro Titanium

KogaFullProTIactual720h.jpg

Roadbike with titanium tubing bonded to alloy lugs
Dura Ace
Syncros post and ti bb
Ringle Ti Skewers
Nitto

TerraLiner Carbolite

93TerraLinerCarboliteactual720h.jpg

700c hybrid/cross bike with carbon tubing for the front. Alloy lugs and rear.

I owned the 1992 TerraLiner Carbolite. It was my first proper bike. Nowadays TerraLiner Carbolite is to me the most impressive bicycle in their current line up. Carbon everything and weighting in at under 10kgs including fenders, rack... Current TLC

That's all folks!

You said in your post that you scanned the mountain bikes from the 1993 catalog. I was wondering if you had, or could scan the section for the road bikes? I recently picked up a 1995? Prologue frame off of eBay, and have been looking for information on it.

Thanks,
Kendall

Hi Kendall,

I do have the 1995 catalogue, but I realize I do not have it at this place. Your bike has FM-1 TripleButted SpiralSpline for the frame, right?

Will post the bike as soon as I have the catalogue.

Melvin

Yes, it has the FM1 triple butted splined tubing. The main triangle is dark purple and the seat/chainstays are purple to champagne fade, the forks are champagne fade also. I do have a picture, I will post it when I get home. I bought it from ebay back in april, and built it up with what I had around the house. It is a great bike, it has gotten me through 2 centurys and 800 miles additional riding/training this season.

Kendall,

It is a 1993 Koga Miyata Prologue. Unlike Miyata in the US Koga only did the highest segments in the market. The Prologue always was a more entry level offering in their line up. The component specs were not really impresive, but it still has the nice frame!

Will post the specs and pic as soon as I have the catalogue. Can take a few weeks though.
