1993 Fat Chance Titanium.

Phenomenal build.

Really, really stunning mate.

And I'm glad you got the bars to match that stem too ;)

Although, as the recent new owner of not one but two MRC Scissor brakes, I could really do with one myself now!
Cheers, really cant wait to finish this one (maybe today).

Finished. Barring a few set up tweaks after a very quick shakedown ride, this lovely bike is finished.

1993 Fat chance titanium with BOI forks.
I've built this as a proper useable bike, no wall hanger. Nothing too precious on it, no bright bling anodising, just good solid XTR and the like. Easy to set up, reliable, easy to repair and very very useable.

Build as follows:
Full Shimano M900 XTR; Cranks, BB, Cantilevers, Front and rear derailleur, Brifters. The wheels are XTR M900 hubs, with an XTR cassette and Sun Mistral Aerodynamic rims in a lovely ti grey colour.
Other bits are modern Panaracer Smoke/Dart tyres (totally rideable and replaceable), Syncros Titanium seatpost with Flite Titanium Alpes Saddle, Chris King Gripnut headset, Ringle Holey Ti-Stix titanium skewers in super rare Pewter finish and last but not least, the wonderful McMahon titanium quill stem and titanium handlebars. ODI attack grips. Shimano XT pedals (will replace them with spd's for proper riding)

Weight as it stands is exactly 10kg / 22lb

Hope you like it. I think the simple grey/silver appearance is very nice, the only blue being the decals, the forks and the McMahon decals. Damn I love the look of that. Checks all my boxes.

Not bad that. ;)
Nice touch with the pewter skewers.
That stem looks lonnnggg!

If it were mine, think I'd only change the stem (my back wouldn't like that one!) and the pedals for spds, and I'd be happy 👍

cheers. Luckily i'm relatively long limbed, so the stem ors well for me, and the spd's will be used for riding, but they're crap for photos.

tell me what im doing wrong, keen to get it right and always slightly unsure. have i got one of the straddle cables wrong?

Your set up is good w/ the brake arms far from the rims so there is more leverage. And you have the original m900 brake levers w/ slr that boost power and modulation.

Very nice indeed! Nothing I'd change. Nice to see an Alpes Flite (as a Flite fanatic) they have unique look I really like. Interesting fastening bolts for the M900 brake calipers, are these an aftermarket Ti option?

Perfect Tom!

I love this bike so much.

The blue hits on just the forks and decals are just perfect.

A lot of people would have thrown blue ano at it, and ruined it. IMHO.

You've completely nailed it this one, I think.

Be better with skinwalls, of course! ;)

PS. I want to ride it so badly, so do let us know how it is...
