I've had my Stumpy finished for a little bit now and have taken it out on a couple of good rides. However, I've got the itch to build something else... So, I thought I'd see if there was any interest in this fantastic freshly restored bike:
1992 Specialized Stumpjumper
18" steel frame and direct drive steel forks.
Frame recently powdercoated in Metallic Black with slight silver flake. Done to a very high standard. No marks on frame after a few rides out. Plus a full set of decals from Gil.
24 sp LX (Black) groupset (incl NOS front mech) with earlier Deore chainset with good rings
New HG50 cassette
New SRAM chain
New IRC Mythos amber wall tyres
Original headset (with new bearings)
Orginal spec stem
Black lightweight handlebars (180g's)
Onza chill pills
Specialized dual compound grips
Mavic X517 SUP UB rims on LX rear hub and Black front hub
New cables throughout
I've put a good bit of money in to this bike and it would be a shame to see it go. But, I can't afford to undertake a new project without selling a bike first.
I've rode approximately 20 miles on road and 30 miles off-road on the Stumpy and throughly enjoyed it all. Frame is so reponsive and climbs exceptionally well, decends well too.
I'd like £325 for the Stumpy, which I think it a fair price for this classic mountain bike.
