1992 Rocky Mountain Thunderbolt

This was how it looked after the unpacking was done.
It's dismantled now in my garage.
Build plan is pretty simple. The corroded Mag21 is gone and a new(-ish) one is already here.
The bar ends and saddle are going up for sale.
The bar, seatpost, BB, and crankset is staying.
The XT kit is getting moved to the Hammer. And the m900 XTR kit from the Hammer is moving onto this one. Also moving onto this one is the White Industries wheelset on Mavic 217s.
Gonna use black cable housing. Ive got a nice black ti Flite for it, too.
I think the only part I need is a 120mm 1st gen Syncros caddlehead stem?

I like the idea of painting the lowers on the Mag 21. Especially since the original one is corroded beyond being ugly. No harm experimenting there.
I like your idea, Frank, of going for more ti...just not sure how deep into my pockets I want to dig for a ti 27.0 post and matching bar :xmas-cool:

i second the idea of painting the lowers black… it'll continue the line from the headtube being black, and also balance the black in the frame with respect to the yellow and red.
can't help with the bar, those are bloody hard to come by, though i do have two, both on builds already, sorry! but perhaps could assist in the post, as i think i might have a spare in the rare 27.0.
is your black post 27.0? as i couldn't confirm if my thunderbolt should take a 27.0 or 27.2 as they were transitioning around those mid 90s years.

If you repaint the forks why not use the team rocky logos on them as supplied for the. '93. Factory supported builds
