1992 Rocky Mountain Stratos

This is my only bike with the QR in this position ,{ ponders } normally their well normal position
I've had a Stratos as a screen saver for last 10 months it belonged to a member on this site. its been my inspiration for my build, now this picture the seat binder is in this position.

Now its from staring at this lovely bike for hours that I've subconsciously added the binder the same.
I haven't found it a danger as yet ,and it will be changed in time.
but what i did notice on some fast forest trails yesterday is my head nearly came off..

I've got this bikes photos in a folder for research purposes {fondling oneself and smirking } only...

And right now this is a screen saver as its the best example ive seen so far.. with excellent decals and fork colour references, and the very rare
shoulder holder saddle , So thanks Frank Shame it was a bit small.

Other Than RockiMtn mint Stratos theirs very few around in that condition. So if any reader happen's here with a similar bike build looking for inspiration and colourways

Yes will be having it powder coated and decals added eventually .
Getting powder coated colours matched correct has been off putting.
Its a wee hobby so progress will be in stops and starts..
Just the better looking it get's and more money spent on it, the less i will want to ride it.. maybe ?
When it was rough looking, i liked it didn't get to much attention from the local bandits as my other bikes owned look appealing
Or i will drop dead before its finished and it will all end up on ebay

Bit more progress ,decided it was time to rub the Tange Super Big forks
down , not a fan of the off the shelf paint strippers as these days it's a bit weak.
so Wet & dried the forks this was labour intensive removing the powdercoat
so used edge of sharp Stanley blade with good results ,as a blade gets into had to reach areas like welds.. still small amount of paint here & there . but overall its progress..
Few changes in components new Dart ft tyre , Tiogo Avenger stem and changed seat binder

This build is coming together now ive had the frameset for one year almost.
ive gathered almost the parts i was after and now have a nice 120mm
zero rise cattleprod from Germany &,syncros bar & steerhorns cheers Joe, to finish the cockpit.
running zokes xc600 forks till the xc 500 have been repaired..
my plan to keep it looking catalog have gone out the window..
decided maybe..hmm powdercoat frame battleship grey. off white decal fonts ,dark grey drop shadow,
white turbo saddle & cables
Im after a black mavic 316 headset ,black h20 cage , to finish
so next post here it should be finished..
