I think it was Marin/Kona/GT and maybe Cannondale originally then Specialized came in and some of the others were dropped, definitely Kona as had to source my next one elsewhere.
Most importantly thought, does Stu still have his Escort Cossie?
He doesn't, but I have all his rallying history at home in boxes, as I run a local rallying memories page on Facebook, and I keep slowly uploading some cracking shots of his cars etc! My mate has the reg he had on his Sapphire Cosworth too! H7 SSF
The fresh tyres, grips, chain and a few other small upgrades have arrived for the Apex, so I will be busy getting those swapped over after a good deep clean of the bike.
I will probably take it for a short run for some pics too when its done.
Managed to have great day today, titivating with the 1992 Raleigh Apex I bought late last year. I thought it would be the ideal oppertunity to also use some Muc Off that has been sat all winter.
A lovely mild day, which was an absolute bonus, and a head clearer too.
I always knew this would go down a similar route to the 1992 Raleigh Ravine that I fettled last year, so that meant colour coded grips, bolts, and a fresh saddle, as the standard Vetta wasnt amazing.
A bit photo heavy, but you get the idea!
Fresh tyres, tubes tommrow, and then its just a waiting game for the cables, which will be next weekends job.
Well, thats Saturday & Sunday’s bike fettling done!
So thankful I have an understanding girlfriend who encouraged me to spend all weekend in the garage. Maybe she is trying to tell me something! ?
Day 2 on the 1992 Raleigh Apex, was just a finish off from yesterday really with new tyres fitted (Schwalbe Rapid Robs on this one) and a little bit more cleaning up.
So, as a recap, it’s had a deep clean, new Charge saddle, new colour coded blue bottle bolts (because bling, right?!), new blue grips and fresh tyres.
