1992 Proflex 752 seatpost size?

Just checked my 1992 Proflex 552 frame and it's certainly bigger than 27.2mm. Smaller than 30.2mm too.
I'll measure it with some calipers in a bit to give an accurate size.

May of course be completely different in size to a 752 frame though.

nobody answered me

I had intended to reply when I got around to checking my seatpost but forgot, sorry.

Just been to the garage and my 552 has a 28.0mm which fits absolutely perfectly IMO.

As far as I'm aware the 552 and 752 are the same frameset, the difference between the two being the groupsets fitted. I may be talking rubbish though, would be nice if someone could confirm this.

last number denotes year

im sure first and second was groupset and frame ranking in that year , not sure on how that part of the system worked , but obviously the 956 was better than the 856 , so was the 9 and the 8 denoting group spec or aluminium used ??

my 1993 proflex 953 seatpost is 28.6mm. last number denoted year 752 = 1992, 753 = 1993. as far as i can tell the first number just represented how high up the foodchain the bike was. the 953 didn't have a component 'group' it was a bit of this and a bit of that...ringle, white industries, gripshift shimano, dia compe.

did a bit of checking and the

956 was easton "varilite" 7005 , 856 easton 7005

955 was alcoa 7005 , 855 alcoa 7005

954 , 854 754 , 554 was alcoa 7005 , all lower tange infinity cromoly

953 , 853 ,753 all alcoa 7005 , all lower tange infinity cromoly

as said above proflex didn't seem to use groups , just threw odd components at frames , then there was their own branded stuff that would appear on frames
also you had the 956 le , attack , attack le , aimal , beast , then throw into the mix that they had cromoly , alloy and carbon swingarms !

so first number deffo quality , line up in the range

second number , any ones guess

third number deffo year of sale
