Hi Retrobikers,
After collect bikes and bike parts for over a year now. I think its time to start my first build. I started my journey because of my long lost ATB. It was stolen years ago and haunted my thoughts even 19 years after it happened. The bike was a Peugeot Safari Camel-mustard color with a Sachs-Huret Aris PowerGrip shifter system and an Sachs-Huret Classic 3500 Groupset. It wasn’t super advanced, expensive or extraordinary, but i loved it.
Last year i started collecting parts in order to rebuild one or at least make something that looked like it. After a few weeks i found a Peugeot Safari Fuchsia-Violet with Aris TwistRing shifters and Classic 3500 group, then i found and Altitude, a Pro Team, and two Magnums. The first idea was to equip the Peugeot Altitude with a Sachs Rival group. But collecting Sachs parts proofed difficult. After a year i have collected enough parts to start three or four builds.
Then i few weeks ago i stumbled upon a Safari Camel-mustard. Bought it observed that it was a little bit different than my old bike and started my first small build.
First thing is to transform it in to my old bike. If i can find the parts i put a Sachs Rival 7000 group on it.
