I've been greatly influenced by this site and the superb imaginative retro builds. I thought I'd test myself and turn my large Kona into one. I'll update this thread as I progess. It's getting close :p

looks like a nice project, looking forward to seeing it complete..

Nice going, and please post some daylight pictures of that gorgeous paint!

I'll be watching this too

Yes thank-you! Same color as my 92 Fire Mountain that was stolen in 1994 and never seen. Once my bike stand is complete (homebuilt) and the seatpost arrives I'll get some better pics. I don't like moving the frame around much right now  I'm clumsy. Haha there will be no purple on this bike. But there will be orange ;)

That's lush my friend, looking good!

Thanks for sharing, and keep posting updates please. I say it would look very good dressed with the Syncros cranks you just sold me. I wonder what they had to make room for.

Enjoy!!

Thanks a lot! I'll wait until my kooka chainring bolts arrive and I'll post my cranks too. You're right though the syncros cranks would have gone quite nicely but too compact for the look I'm going for.

My decals are at the sign shop being made so hopefully they will turn out as i expect.
