1991 Yeti Ultimate build thread

Was able to get a short road test ride in and the Tioga DD stayed true. Weather permitting going to try and put a few more easy trail miles in. Made a few changes on the bike and have a few more things to address before its BOTM worthy but its rideable and really coming together.

So @racecarjohnny how does it ride?

Did you neighbours think a thunderstorm was brewing only to look out the window and see you rolling up your driveway on your Ultimate with the Disk Drive on full chat! ;)
Yeah my neighbors think I'm nuts between vintage MTB's and motorbikes. Honestly I have not had a chance to turn up the wick yet with the Tioga on the Ultimate. I'm nursing some cracked ribs and taking it easy on my rides as I don't heal as fast as I used too. With that said, I am going to and already have the downhill section picked out.

From my point of view the bike definitely looks better with the Tioga Psycho's than the Smokes - I have a Green set that are twenty five/seven odd years old, in a cellar! Can't bare to throw them out, even though they have had it! Fantastic performing and looking tyres.

You have also got to "love" that looptail engineering design of the rear stay on the that hardtail, not many bikes built like that now!

I agree. Tioga Psychos are my favorite vintage mtb tire. The repop smokes look ok but perform so much better, especially in cooler damp conditions. These frames are works of art imo.
