Chaps,

Last of my retrobike collection is now for sale. Not being used and simply hanging as a keepsake depresses me so think its the right time to sell. A lot of people will remember this on this forum and it was one of my most interesting in the collection!

This is a 1991 era composite Trimble with original non-faded tiger stripe paintwork (white at front, to fluo yellow, to orange, to red on the rear) Paintwork still looks stunning and bright.

Last ridden in the Forest of Dean a few years ago and it coped incredibly well baring in mind its fully rigid, but it tore up the hills and decended really well compared with a lot of the modern bikes others were riding. Quite surprising really.

The bike is fitted with an old school Syncros stem (1" quill), Syncros bars (with shim) XT thumbies and levers, low profile cantis with madison blocks, original rear XT U brake, and (I think) an XT headset. Syncros post and flite. XT black cranks, XT front and rear mechs, DX hubbed M231CD wheels, and I popped on a pair of cream tyres which are not really era specific but have some black old school tyres I can bundle in with it. Black pro painted black 1" threaded old school Project Twos - these came on the bike originally as Trimbles were specced with p2's from what I recall. Onza grips and some Ritchey clipless pedals too although the pedals are missing internal springs so are really for show as I usually run modern SPDs.

The frame is a medium/large (I'm 6 foot 1" and it fitted me great). There are lots of areas where the paint has been treated and chips addressed - this is especially apparent around the rear stay where previous owner used a wider tyre have rubbed the paint away. Not noticeable when built as seen in the pictures.

The bike needs a bit of a fettle to get the brakes working better (U-brakes are not great as we all know) but someone who wants to spend some time on this will no doubt get it running a lot better.

Pics as below - happy to answer questions. Would prefer to have a buyer come inspect and collect for peace of mind, but could be pursuaded to box up and courier. Located in Warwick.

Price is hard to determine on this - looking for £1200.00 for the whole thing as pictured collected.

The first ever guy to place a classified ad, and this to be your last. End of an era indeed.
*gorgeous Trimble BTW
