Looks great with a fresh set of tyres on it :)

I'd say Trek was still good in '91, and it wasn't until '92 when they started to go off track a bit - as despite many of the bikes staying the same, that was when they introduced the 'pogo' full suspension bikes to their range

Thank you, yes this one is a '91 so I agree! Mind you I do remember lusting after a 1992 9500 after Mint Sauce got one!

Hi. @1978, You did a fantastic job! I have the same bike, but I was a bonehead and tossed the derailleurs and shifters during a move (at least I was smart enough to keep the 34.9 EC endless strap clamp). You've inspired me!

I'm looking to rebuild it now, and would appreciate the group's help to ensure I buy the correct derailleurs. Could anyone please confirm the model number for the front derailleur. I'm pretty sure it's FD-M730 or FD-M735. I don't think the EC gets stamped with the model number.
Are both models are Top-guide/pull. The trek manual doesn't specify to the model number, and the shimano manuals don't highlight any unique markings for top v. bottom pull. I thought all EC strap clamps were top pull, while the band clamps were for bottom pull, but all the strap clamps on ebay right now say "bottom pull".

Any info would be helpful. thanks!
