Thought i'd finally add a few pics of my '91 Stumpjumper Comp I picked up locally last year from a fellow forum member who had used it as his pub bike. Here's a few pics upon arrival...

Re:

I remember always wanting one of these back in the day when I had a Rockhopper Comp. Even now I think it's a great colour and in the Matt finish.

Couple of coats of polish then pick up a few new parts and reassemble...

The Kenda K-829 tyres are almost an exact match to the paint and decided to add a few more red parts - DMR V8 pedals and Raceface Half Nelson grips, Kool Stop pads, Tioga style saddle and red cables. Also picked a Tioga quill stem from this forum.

Looks a little different to how it left Specialized! ;)

Massive thanks to Colin for selling me the bike and to Matt @ Upcyle Bike for final assembly and adjustments, VERY happy with it now and a great addition to the collection! :)

Very nice, I really like how tires match paint(will keep them in mind for my 94 stumpy).

Yeah the colour works well, Kenda do about 6 colours, i have the blue, red and yellow as well, good value too!

Specialized had some "special" color/decal schemes, simple but very attractive. I also have these Kendas in red and I can agree on value for money, they are on my daily driver for year now and zero problems.

I'm definitely doing this with a build of mine.
I have every colour except the grey. However I have a Silver C16r that would look lovely on those. I might copy the piping and go purple if I can.

Brings back fond memories of an early autumn trip to Scotland. I was on a Saracen, but my friends all had high end Specialized bikes and damn they were great riding bikes.

I probably wouldn't go for that look myself due to natural tendencies towards stealth, but it does look mighty fine and thoughtfully put together.
