Thats fantastic, I love the early Offroad Proflex bikes..... I wouldn't put suspension forks on it personally, as the geometry isn't designed for it. That said, some early 60mm Pace or similar would probably be ok..

I like the manitou I for my offroad proflex, but you need patience to find them. So I put some quadra 10 instead while I find them. JamisDiablo had a proflex with the quadra rock shox quadra and the flexstem.

Nice forks but maybe not for the 550, I think.

Why don't you let the rigid forks stay there? They are nice, and you have the original flexstem wich looks good.

In my 550 I left the rigid forks. When I bought my RF-1 it didn't have forks, so I put a Rock Shox, but if I could find a nice rigid fork I would put on it.

I bought one of these 2nd hand in the early 90s. The bloke that owned it was away on business, his wife got annoyed at him for taking up too much room with stuff in the garage & sold it to me for £50 :shock:
