Rode it for a couple hours on street, gravel and grass trails. Crazy fast. Way ahead of its time. Maybe one of the most versatile, fun to rides bikes I’ve ever ridden. Klein Adept and this Route 66 were really the first gravel bikes.
Really nice with the Turbo I think, and the purple in the paint comes through in that photo making the grips and cages look choice.Had the Route 66 out for a spin. Big wheels roll better in the tall grass. Put a turbo saddle on too.
I’ve wanted a pair of the 26in Hed wheels for a long time but the prices are just ridiculous and out of my range. I found these mint Hed 700c early 90s jet wheels a few weeks back and was able to purchase them for $250. Glued on some new Donnelly cyclocross tires and put them on my Route 66.
