1991 Mountain Goat Route 66 build thread

Rode it for a couple hours on street, gravel and grass trails. Crazy fast. Way ahead of its time. Maybe one of the most versatile, fun to rides bikes I’ve ever ridden. Klein Adept and this Route 66 were really the first gravel bikes.

What a beauty, I agree with those who called for drop bars, however it looks great with flat bars. The colourway is stunning so it would probably look good however it's set up.
 
Drop bars or flat bar.. it all depends on fit. Top tube is long and stem is already short. Since drop bars extend the reach i find it hard to work here. Unless an extremely short but tall stem is used but i don´t know what kind of handling it would give. Fit and handling first... looks? way after.
