Wasn’t going to do a build thread but it’s turning out to be a nicer bike than I expected and it’s nice to keep a record and photos.
Found at the side of the road for £25 from the original owner. Has a sticker from the bike shop I used to go in and drool over Marins and GTs as a kid - Terry Wrights of Deeping St James.
What a difference a clean, a replacement saddle and some tyres have made. Still got to cable it up and see if the chain will go again once it’s finished it’s bath in white spirits. I’ll look out for some uncut bars - I know it was a thing back in the day but I’m really not a fan of narrow bars, just pushing it from the garage to the garden it feels really twitchy so think it would be awful on a ride.
The Vetta is as close in shape to the origjnal as I could find in my garage, the Farmer Johns not correct but are the only pair of tan walls out there that I don’t have other plans for.
