1991 Giant Team ONCE TCR build

Al1972

Dirt Disciple
This is my first build, originally going to be a winter bike, but when the frame was delivered I decided it was too nice and decided to restore it instead.

I found the original seat post online, and am completing with Campagnolo veloce and over the course of the next few paydays....

Frame: Giant TCR Team ONCE Edition Superlight Alloy
Fork: Full carbon inc. carbon steerer
Headset: Cane Creek ZS
Stem: Giant Contact OS
Bars: Giant Connect
Seatpost: Giant Mike Burrows Aero Carbon
Seatpost Clamp: Giant ONCE
Saddle TBC
Groupset: Campagnolo Veloce
Wheels: TBC (probably Campagnolo Zonda)

Never built before, so any info on the frame / advice much appreciated!

Great looking frame. Can't be as early as '91 though can it? The semi integrated headset must mean nearer the 00's?

Re:

Nice

I had one some time ago, bought new in 2000. I think yours may be a '99 looking at the haed badge.

Used it for time trialling as I preferred the look to the aero frame. BTW, those Burrows seatposts flex like crazy. Didn't notice until a friend watching me on a turbo noticed. I used a USE Alien for mine after that.

After I stopped racing, used it as a road bike, with Ultegra, fantastic! Will look for a picture of it.It was light and stiff.
Hope you like yours, and welcome to the forum ;)

Mike

Re:

Thanks, but it's only around a 53x15 ish by the looks of it. It was the National 25 , so I had to try a little bit.
You'll be forgiven for not noticing the teaspoon

Re:

Got the shifters and rear derailleur on today. Feeling very pleased with myself as the mech moves when I push the lever!!

Campag feels great, think I'm converted from ultegra....

Let me know what you think, any feedback, good / bad welcome. Interested to know!
