1991 Diamondback Axis

I'm quite chuffed today after finding this lovely old Diamondback. I previously owned and subsequently sold a 93 version as it was too small although this one very almost fits!
It had been stored away for over ten years and had dust to prove but after a quick hose down it was clear it hadn't ever seen much use...the drivetrain teeth are excellent at a glance and the mavics have virtually no wear. The main negative is the XT Sti's are as sticky as a sticky thing on national "lets be sticky day" so if anyone has any XT thumbies going reasonable please shout out. Apart from that issue its hopefully gonna be a very straight forward strip n' polish. Even the Panaracer Dusters appear good. There are a few light marks to the paint but overall looks tidy. I am also low on spare spuds if anyone has a tidy pair sitting idle?!

The internals of them STI's are quite basic strip and clean them and they will be good to go

Very nice - love Diamondbacks, especially the 1991 lineup. I have the Axis Team, Apex, & Ascent EX - would love to get my mitts on the neon orange Axis from that year

Do you happen to remember the stem and the seatpost size? Could it be that they were 25.4 and 27.2 respectively? Any info is appreciated.
