Measure the Seat Tube length, mine is an 18 inch frame and I get around 16 inches, according to the specs below its 16.30 inch, your's will either be around 18.20 inches or 20 inches (Approx Mind) (Also mind am going by a M800, but am sure the SM800 may be very close in nature)

Seat tube c2t is around 18.4" top tube is 22" c2c so somewhat out with those m800 specifications. I'll check stand over in the morning.

Headtube must be insane on the 22" if this is a 20"

After looking at your first picture, yes I think its a 20" frame. Yup the 22" frame's look like it would suit someone 7 foot tall, the 20" may be okies for the build your looking for, on the 18" the seat post itself has to be raised a lot out for me, its a weird geometry but never the less a fantastic riding frame. (I had one back in 1994, and currently building one)

The SM800 and M800 frame geometry from Cannondale was developed/designed for Mountain bike trials, hence not trails, there is a difference.

edit: I could be wrong with the above quote, I have since read another's quote " It was aimed at the type a trails found at the east coast of the US, hence Beast of the East " - However they were often used as Trials bikes and not Trails due to the geometry, high BB to jump between rocks etc.

Makes sense. I think Martyn Ashton rode for cannondale. Might be an image of him on a later m800. Maybe that's just in my mind.

Its when you get on the saddle and your feet on the pedals with those frames with he high BB you notice - its like riding a Penny Farthing.

Fairly easily I recall.

Sometimes they can be stuck tight and use of a breaker bar can help.

some penetrating fluid could also be an idea.

Just make sure you are cranking it the correct direction for the thread and you should be all good.

And I think the non-drive side should come out first? (An actual pro mechanic could chime in here with answers!)
