Old School Grand Master
Good Afternoon on this rather autumnal day,

Feast your eyes on my latest retro, I picked this up in a very dirty and uncared condition. The dirt was mostly grease that had gone kinda waxy all over the drive train and surrounding area's. Its all original to my reckononing and the only additions I have added are Chain, Rear gear cable & amberwall tioga's

I have strpped every component to its bare bones and removed the waxy grease that was as stubborn as hell, serviced + tweaked and have finally completed today. I so love the DX groupo that looks as perfoms as if it were new, Im pretty sure that todays SLX or Deore would never look this good after 18 years :p

The paint in the sunshine is absolutly amazing, the Candy red metallic against the pearlecent white looks almost eatable

Beautiful, great condition. A big fan of the breezers :D May I be so bold as to make a suggestion...get some thumbies for it...perhaps?

Hey Pete, I have been thinking about this already dude , I do have a tidy set of XT's in my spares , all my other bikes have them but I will keep this one factory I think, I dont like early STI's one bit but will have to make sure no one see's me using them ;)

That's beautiful, it's fantastic condition for 18 years old bike, a real classic and great find too.

I would look for new grips, perhap foam grips? and new bar ends, a few touch up on paint will finish it off nicely.

Stunning, I like this one alot

Wow, what a beauty. Great work there.

I see what you mean about it looking almst edible, but really it would be a shame to eat it, because then you wouldn't have a bike, nor would you have many teeth left either. You could compromise and just lick it instead?

I have and it tastes of fresh turtle wax ;) I will have to buy some retro stawaberries & cream, (100g not a 1/4 any more) :x

Looks good dude rekon you should leave it as the factory left it, great machine

Great bike fella, it's lovely to see this.
One point -I may be wrong but I think the original tyres were 'Smokes, ..they were on the '92 model anyway.

Im not sure on the original tyres, I would guess they could have been Ritchey to go with the rest of the kit ? I had the Tioga waiting's for a bike, It had slicks on when I got it. Amberwall tyres are such a mare to find !
