Recently decided to make a return to retrobikes. Given the end of racing due to COVID and a recent bike crash I started looking around for early 90s bikes. So far I picked up a few things including a pair of 91 Alpinestars E-stays. Today arrived a Cro-Mega DX. Pretty much complete except a fork and wheelset. Not sure what I will do with the fork issue. Tempted to put on a Manitou 1 or 2.

Overall the frame is pretty solid but a bit sun bleached especially the pink parts of the decal. Still I think there is some potential. Tomorrow arrives my 91 Al-Mega DX without cracks and a fork. So got some decisions to make. Need to start one of them soon.

A buddy of mine bought the pink LX version of this bike, after I tried to convince him the Fisher HK-II was a better deal.

This has a 1 1/4" headtube I think?

Re:

You might be right about the headtube. Pretty sure that is true of the Al-Mega. Need to measure this one. Be much easier if it was 1-1/8th.

Re:

The big brother Al-Mega arrived. Now need to make a choice which to build. Seems like the Cro-Mega may have a seized BB.
