1990

I was 21, working near Covent Garden for an QS/Architects for my year out after my degree. I was still living at home and the company paid for my travel so all the wages were mine to spend or save. I spent it all, a lot of it chasing an ex girlfriend to no avail.
No debt as it was all student grants back then, I had my road bike and Tufftrax I had bought in Tooley Street. I used to cycle up to Mile End climbing wall sometimes too, or go out to Tunbridge area for the sandstone climbing.
I was fiercely anti-car, until I got one a few years later, now I'm a petrol head.

.

I was enduring the second year of my YTS apprenticeship in Bricklaying and associated studies on a whopping £31.50 a week  up from £28.50 a week in the first year :D
Driving a ridiculously quick signal yellow mk2 escort, usually only until tuesday as by then i had run out of money, then riding my muddy fox for the rest of the week :D
Closest i got to riding out in the mountains was evenings in with a rather busty girl who worked for the ordanance survey

Always thought you were a good guy fella, but that's just raised meteorically in my book...

One of the finest cars ever to wear a Ford badge in this country, IMHO, and the only hot Ford ever to allude me.

Problem is now, the bloody price of a decent one...

I was 15 and doing my GCSEs and avoiding revision by going out constantly MTBing :D

in 1990 i was too young to have any real worries. i was discovering the local trails and quarries on my falcon pathfinder. i had no thoughts of cars or girls and life was simple in our 3 bed ex council house in north lincolnshire.

within 5 years i had discovered vw's, bikes and girls and my life has gone deeper downhill ever since

1990 - aged 11/12 - september of that year started secondary school (on my 12th birthday) being ribbed about still riding a bmx as all my mates were riding crappy mtb's
