Here's my Trek 1420 from 1990.

I worked in a shop that sold these bikes in the mid '90s and really wanted one back then, but couldn't afford one. So, when one came up in my size on ebay a few years back I grabbed it.

I really like that even though it's aluminium it's really smooth and doesn't look all big-tubed.

Frame: Trek 1420 in 'Glacier' that really sparkles in the sun (and the pink is growing on me!)
Fork: Trek bonded Aluminium
Stem: Giant chrome-mo (off a mate's Cadex ALR)
Handlebar: Modolo
Brifters: Shimano 105 8 speed
Brake calipers: Shimano 105
Front derailleur: Shimano RX100
Rear derailleur: Shimano 105
Cassette: 12-25 8 speed
Chain: Shimano
Cranks: Shimano 105
Bottom Bracket: Shimano Dura-ace
Pedals: Shimano PD-R540
Wheels: Shimano WH-R540
Tyres: 700x28
Saddle: WTB Silvarado
Seatpost: no idea

It's a135mm stem. Frame has a 60cm c-c seat tube, but the top tube is 575mm, so not super long.

My LeMond however is a 61, but its top tube is 600mm, so I run a 100mm stem on it. With saddle adjustment, what's 10mm between friends?
