Hi, I'd like to share a Peugeot Control 500 ATB which has been collected by Rona Custom (In: @ronacustomcycle) in Ankara-Turkey to inspire some of you to work on their rusty and ignored MTB frames from 1990s.. You should see his reconstructions and great photos at his social media pages.

The city-bike-oriented build consists of a 1x7-speed (F: 32t R: 12-28 setup, including a mix of old/new Acera (M361), Altus and Alivio parts, which Mr. Rona has selected. The rear derailleur is a Shimano RD-MC14. The hub should take up 8-speed cassette, should I need a better gear-ratio for light uphills

My only concern is how to prevent chain drop, which I'd plan using an old front derailleur as a chain guide copying a hack by Dann (link to see photos Radavist).

Do you have any other practical and aesthetic solutions to prevent chain drop on a 1x7 setup? Would a narrow-wide chainring suit a 6/7/8-speed Shimano chain?
