I also removed the red seat quick release. Are they ringle or copies?

If they are original Mark, they would fetch the same as you paid for the whole bike.

And on the way home, during your maiden voyage, remember if you really dont like it, i have a handsome profit waiting here for you. ;)

I Don't want to sound smug but if you think the skewers are nice you should check these out. I paid £40 for a Roberts Phantom off of a Facebook ad. I thought I was getting a steal but it came with these wheels. Blue Mavic 221 on Ringle hubs. The hubs are smooth and in good condition under the dirt. Don't know what to do with them but it seems like fate that the red skewers off of the Lavoie match them perfectly:) I don't know what they're worth as I've never had Ringle parts. I might sell them to pay for the Roberts repaint and build. I think I'm on a lucky streak ay the moment!

How much do you think they're worth? When I found them a couple of people were interested in them. I asked for offers but no-one put a figure on it.

Here's the Phantom, as found and in the hands of Winston Vaz. He's the guy who made it back in 1989 when he worked for Chas Roberts. His workshop is a 5 minute walk from my house in Hither Green, south London. He's going to strip, repair a dent and some cable routing then his brother Mario will repaint it. I'll do a proper thread for it soon.

As for the Ringle, id ebay them and link in here, the last set of Q/Rs alone made £155.00 from memory.

Do you have a white spider and or Dogs Bolx? If so Winston would have made it. He built all the MTBs. I need a fork for the Phantom...

Anyway, I'll start a thread for it some time. I'm about to hit London Traffic on the Lavoie, wish me luck.

Here's a couple of photos from Mark, the first owner. He kindly sent them over today. Wish I knew what the head tube badge looked like!

Hi Mark, here is a copy of the head tube decal for you.

If I remember and if I'm not wrong : did Lavoie make the first GT Xizang frame and the really first prometheus ?

These pictures are from Rob who was a welder for Lavioe and then Orion engineering, they made frames, stems and handle bars and seat posts if memory serves correctly

This is how the Lavoie looks now, I built some Titanium spoked wheels for it with Mavic 117 and black 7speed M732 hubs. I stripped and clear coated some old P2's they are not ti forks

I raced for Asama at the time and the Lavoie had very similar design to the Titanium Asama (Manufactured by Sandvik, same as rocky, kona and Cove with a few exceptions) so I had put Asama decals on it
