Just starting out on a build of my own: bare frame 1990 (ish) Merlin XLM 20", frame number 6834. Struggling to find a 1" steerer shock and can't even find V-brakes that fit (the locator pins on the Shimano XTR's I bought don't line up!).

Anyone who's rebuilt an old XLM, I'd be grateful for any recommendations!
