1990 Cannondale 3.0

Been a while since I had a retro project on the go. Always fancied an early Look carbon and always admired the early Cannondale aluminium frames when they came out…so light back then.

It’s a 50cm but the extended seat tube provides a chance to use my stubby C Record short seatpost.

Build will likely be 8 speed Campag..maybe syncro DT shifters or may use some ergos I’ve got instead but it happily swallowed the 130 rear wheel. Likely be a while before it’s finished but good to get something on the go again!

I had one of these back in 1990 although it was one size too big with hindsight. I am always looking out for one but they seem to be pretty rare. Believe me, that is a very stiff frame so get the fattest tyres that will fit. Good luck with your build.

We all rode frames at least 1 size too big back in 90! Was a eureka moment when I downsized in 91.
Will try 25's in it...see how it goes.
