1989 Specialized Rockhopper

Thought I'd share my latest little project.
Picked this up locally and very pleased I am too.
First investigations suggest the wheels aren't original, they look like mid nineties wheels from a later rockhopper.
The rear mech is wrong (the right one is already on its way)
The frame is straight with no dings or corrosion and should polish up nice.
A bit of corrosion on the bars and stem, which I can deal with.
The saddle is unfortunately toast. Not sure its worth saving.
But all in all pretty pleased

Mountain LX came out in 1989 only. AND the bars look uncut which is rare thing as late 80s/early 90s bars got cut super narrow by so many!

A little progress, everything is cleaning up nicely. It's hardly been ridden. Some wheels have also been sourced.

I've decided to move this little project along. As nice as it is, the arrival of another, more desirable project has changed my plans ! If anyone is interested in all or parts of it please let me know.
