I bought this from Ash last week as “my missus needs a bike” and I picked it up this morning from the Post Office; it’s tiny! Other than the catalogue that’s in the archives and a few posts on the forum, I’ve not had much success in finding out much more; “Offroad” is a useless key word… Any additional info/reviews would be greatly appreciated. :)

Wheels, mechs, chainrings are on their way (thanks Ant) as are the shifters (thanks Retrobike) and the crank has arrived (thanks Cooie); just need a stack of other period parts!

Re: 1989(?) Offroad Pro Am

Nice 'little' project you have there.........always liked the early offroad's....

looking forward to seeing what this turns out like....

Re: 1989(?) Offroad Pro Am

Marketed as a proper off road bike for the smaller rider/ladies iirc, pretty cool.

Re: 1989(?) Offroad Pro Am

I've finally managed to source most of the parts for this now (so expect some movement on this post). Just need some period flat pedals and a straddle cable yoke (I've got some Onza Chill Pills but they're too new). I've also have had to draw up some new decals for Gil to make as he only had some for a Pro.Flex; this has taken ages, what with his accident and all.

Anyway... I need some suggestions as to what to do with the elastomers in the Flexstem. I took up B77's suggestion on getting some long board bushes but I can only fit one.

As you can see there were two elastomers but I need something to replace the black rebound one. Looking at pictures of the Girvin Flexstems the design seems to have changed for this Offroad one. I guess I could try and cut the elastomer down but is there anything else that would make a good substitute?

Re: 1989(?) Offroad Pro Am

Here we go; I'm finished (I think...). Off for a test ride tomorrow, so I thought I'd put up some pics before she gets dirty.
