1989 19” Dawes Escape Frameset £50 posted SOLD

Nice old frame with a lovely, very retro paint job. General condition is good, no nasty dings and all threads are fine. Paint is in not too bad a state for 30+ years. Nice patina in places. Has picked up a few minor marks in storage since I’ve owned it, many of which will polish out.

Headset size 1" (headset included but will need a service). Frame made from Reynolds 500 All Terrain tubing (cro-mo steel). Nice lugged unicrown fork. Despite 500 being an “entry level” tube set, this weighs no more than a similar sized lugged butted 531 frame I have - just under 3.8kg.

It’s a quality frame, one of the last that were hand-made in England.

Measurements are:

Seat tube: CTC 19" CTT 19.5"
Top Tube: CTC 21.5"
Head tube: 4.3"
Rear spacing seems to be somewhere between 130 and 135mm - I measured it as 133mm... either will fit!
Seat post size 26.4

Collection would be from south Devon, but not sure it counts as “necessary travel”. Hermes etc are still collecting stuff no problem though, and I have a suitable box, so I’m happy to send it.

Also got some bits to build this depending on what you need...

BUMP, have reduced the posted price on this, grab a nice lockdown project while I can still get it sent out!

Put some wheels on it today to get a feel for how it would look built up. I’m keeping them, but have a pic:
