A very good example of a low mileage iconic bike from Saracen. I picked it up from an elderly lady around 3.5 years ago who hardly used it and had it from new. The anodised rims have almost no brake rub and the groupset is in top condition.
It was stored in her garage and even though the paint is in good condition, there are some signs of a little paint worming, which I have on all my Saracens from the same era and conclude must be common on these old Saracens. Again, there are some minor paint chips and marks from storage from the lady. I would say the condition of the paint is a 7 to 8 out of ten.
Everything is original apart from the saddle. This was swapped for a comfy Selle model from new and which is on the bike. Unfortunately, the tyres are perishing and whilst they are original, if you wish to ride her, then these need replacing.
Would like to keep her as a good example of a great bike, which I imagine a lot of people have good memories of. A reluctant sale but I have not used it since purchasing it as I couldn't bring myself to use it and wear the rims and gears (crazy I know!). Plus, space is an issue with a growing family. Size wise, this is ridable for me at 6' tall and I have a long torso.
Okay, price. This may seem a bit on the high side for a Saracen, but this is an almost unused bike and price reflects the rarity of this (and comparable to some other recent bikes for sale in similar condition /age). Looking for £100 and I can post for extra. Located in Mid Essex.
