Mr. Spwal mentioned this thread and asked me to make some remarks.

Having been the guy that welded these bikes together, I can assure you that we made frames in different configurations as required.

It could certainly be a repair or something made out of spare parts at any point in time. We did change several set of drops on frames but rarely replaced the whole back of a used frame. We also made bikes out of spares as needed for racers or VIP's.

Only the people who have owned it before know it's history and that has likely been forgotten.

Why a stem with a roller cable hanger for a bike with a front suspension ?
Pierre I'm not finished yet with Merlin ;)

Two parts have arrived from Richmond and Thetford (thank you guys :D)

beautiful frame set...
I also agree, the stem looks great in silver :D
Thanks :D ...but I can't leave it in silver because I will have no further part in silver on this bike ;)

For being more precise, it's a nitto made stem called Cannondale 285 stem. It's quite the same as a ritchey force quill stem, but it was made for Cannondale for the SM omega or the SM2000. ;)
An ATAC stem fits better on a Yeti. I agree. So, you should sale me your Nitto

Edit...

And here some more Nitto-love
