About a year ago I missed out on a Specialized Rock Combo. One of the Specialized bikes I didn’t have.

Not long after that Bart aka stumpjumper1990 offered me this 1988 Stumpjumper Comp frame. He didn’t had the original fork, but he found a good replacement for it…except it was red…

So this one went to the painter (and stayed there for a month or four..). In the meantime I could collect the parts for this build.

I wasn’t sure if a drop bar would be a good thing on a mountainbike, but this bike is worth a try…. And I like it!

Very nice indeed! Keep the drop bar!

Is that a paint or a powdercoat? Where have you had it painted?

Very nice job, I would try a more upright stem though

I've had it painted by Sebastien. I know the owner.

It's painted, not powdercoated. The paint is pearly white ( :? ), but is was a tough job to find the right paint for the fork to match it with a 26 year old discolored frame...
