1988 Specialized Rockhopper Comp

Picked this up for free on Saturday with no plans other than to save it as a survivor becoming a ruined commuter…

1988 Catalogue-spec with the exception of the tyres and the purple seat binder that I chucked on as the original one was rusted to bits…

Full 6 speed Deore with thumbies and 2mm cables (replaced with modern rear as it was rusted through) biopace rings and Uniglide threaded block and a chainstay mounted U-brake

Think it will clean up and need to hide it from the wife!

Interested to see the final result. I have the same bike but '89 (same colours and specs, just cantilever instead of u brake at the back), will be the next one for an overhaul
