1988 Raleigh Technium mountain bike

So I was able to save this vintage mountain bike from the landfill. Hopefully someone can give me some additional information about it. The bike has XT 6-speed shifters, XT drive train minus the front derailleur which is a newer sram. The main tubes look almost like carbon? Does have the rear XT brake mounted under the bike on the chain stays. Any ideas on the year? Thanks, cheers.

Update; So I am confident the bike is a 1988. I am disappointed that I am no closer to the figuring out why this is full XT when I was able to find a blurb about stock was Suntour.... Appears the hand engraving on the bottom is a postcode for Singapore? Bottom line the bike will be up for sale as soon as I clean it up a bit and freshen it up.

Well I have done some research and it appears the bike is a 87/88 Raleigh Technium Carbon/Kevlar "The Vision", one step down from the top of the line "The Peak" which the main difference is Carbon/Kevlar bonded into chromoly vs aluminum. Anyone have any information or catalogs on bike or even the Carbon/Kevlar process?

Cool bike and well saved! I can offer no info but what are you going to do with it? Rub it down by hand and clear-coat to restore? U-brake:

I plan on refreshing /restoring it. Hopefully I will be able to get the original specs. Grey paint a bit patina... Have a handful of projects waiting to go.

The big difference from 88 to 89 is the rear brakes move from the chain stays to the seatstays... Why do you want the 89?
I like the internal routing for the rear brake. Plus, although chainstay ubrakes are cool and function well (I've had at least three bikes with them) they can get quite clogged up in muddy conditions.
