Hey man, sorry to drag up an old thread. Beautiful bike. What is going on with the rim? It looks like they are disc rims with no rim brake track? Do the brakes actually stop on those?

they’re matrix mt aero rims - and rim brake only.

These are just bonkers old narrow rims that were en vogue in the early 90s. Trek produced these (MT Aero) and also MT Titan that were even lighter. Not the best braking service or the easiest to setup, but they didn't half look cool! A friend had some and loved them (MT Aero). 100% rim brakes too!
