Nice project, I love what you've done with the paint

;)
I'd love to take credit for the paintwork but that was the previous owner,i'm gonna be boring and go for silver :D

The bike came with quite a few of the original parts and in my parts bin i think i have the rest of them so that's all good. All i need now i think is the palisades then i've got the full set, i notice in your signature you have a 1988 Team Stumpjumper that's another bike as well as a yellow Rockhopper i'm looking for to complete my 88 Specialized range :D

Re:

A couple of photos of the Pine Mountain as it stands now and with a bit of BMW Arctic silver on the top tube to see if it's a decent match which i think is pretty close to the original paint.
The previous owner must of had it blasted and looking at the frame it looks in good condition, apart from a small dent in the top tube that's it. The rust is just surface so will sand off no problem, I hope
After that fill the hole and use some primer then start spraying it up in that silver the tricky bit will be to find a coloured lacquer to match the violet tinge the Pine Mountain has.
Build spec i've got an idea what i want to do with the Deore groupset and how the bike will look afterwards, some of the ideas i'll be doing and some might turn out to be wrong and get ditched but we'll see :D

Looking forward to having a go at respraying a bike, should be fun.

Re:

This is before they went to the satin finish paint isn't it?

Loved these at the time. That era of Marin just before they all got the stone guard type paint were all great looking bikes imho.
