1988 Fat Chance Wicked

Stem was stripped today, to reveal how nicely made it is. I wonder what make it is? A mixture of tig welds and braze. Etch primer tomorrow.

Would you consider going back seatpost?

I would yes. I just happen to have this silver one in the spares drawer. I'll make updates as I go, i especially want to get a older XT chainset and front mech to match the rest of the drivetrain.
 
Primer on, 1 coat of etch and 1 coat of grey primer. Top coat next now the temperature is rising a little!

On the home straight now. Stem is finished and looks great. Added a spacer under the headset locknut to cover an unsightly gap between locknut and bottom of stem 'shoulder'.
SRP bearings arrived too! Next is cabling, brake pads and a decision about what saddle to fit. I'm leaning toward a brooks B17....
