Clear coated fillet brazed project sounds cool. Be good to see that.
Many years ago I used gun browning on a filet brazed frame. I then used boiled linseed oil, then semi gloss clear. The browning was wiped on and cured with a propane torch, then stacked behind our hot wood heater for several days. It was real nice, unique deep brown, but this is difficult to do evenly, needs touch up coats. I think it would look good on a maggot bike where acid removed rust and there is still some paint.
