1988 Brodie Climbmax

Beautiful bike and I would agree, a slim steel stem would look better.

For modelers paint maybe look at Tamiya TS 36, it´s a good match for my Flare Klein (albeit it´s a bit faded).

Unfortunately, like every fluoro paint, you have to lay down a base of white first, otherwise it will not "glow".

The LX crank caps should be plastic, IRRC everything below XT was.

Thanks @Dr Dremel

Plastic won't do unless mint, I may chance it if I find a crank with decent enough rings, maybe the caps turn out better in person. The repro eBay ones are expensive

My touch ups are mostly very small, thanks for the recommended model paint! I'll try sourcing ;)

The frame needs a T-Cut and wax after strip down

I know, right? But I love it. To me the tall head tube is a Brodie signature

I'm only 5'-7" (used to be an 1" taller in younger years)

This 19" is not at all too big, TT is just right for my riding preference.

Top of headset is higher as a result though and the tall front brake hanger unit and big tubed Syncros have the bars higher than I like. This gives me a chance to burry the stem potentially using a more period correct slimmer steel unit like a Ritchey Force or something worthy but with a built in noodle or similar

Trade it for a smaller Brodie. Big frames are sought after. It´s at least 2 sizes too big for a 5´-7´ person. That´s bigger than a 19in
