1987 Raleigh Road Ace - colour match paint help!

Hi All,

Am working on a 1987 Raleigh Road Ace and looking for advice as to how best to colour match the main Polar Blue colour.

I have done the usual searches but no joy. Might be a case of colour matching using hobby paints.

Any advice appreciated.

Hi did you find a good colour match for the road ace? im looking for the same type of paint for my 87 road ace.

Hi Fr188, I took the bike frame to a car paint guy I know through a friend and he matched it perfectly.

That would be an idea. I am doing the same for my "modern".

I used Humbrol #14 French Blue. It's a little dark (but that might be due to the original paint fading), but it was cheap and looks fine.

Apparently the RAL colour is 5005 Signal Blue
