1986 Rockhopper mod

Had planned to buy that frameset myself but wanted something else in the end. I was going IGH but when I saw it was semi horizontal I wasn't as keen. Glad to see it went to a person that wishes to bastardise it proper. Excited to see it materialise and then post it in my sweaty thread.

Sorry to hear about your injury, hope all is better soon.

Yeah, thought it was fine at first, realised it was getting more and more painful as I rode the 9 miles back to the car and confirmed broken at minor injuries. At a follow up a week later they reckoned I’d buggered the ligament so surgery the next day. Get this cast off in 9 days and hoping they put me in a Velcro splint at that point but kinda suspect it’ll be back into another cast.

At least it’s not summer!
That sucks! Get well soon!
Love your plans for the Hopper.

Good luck with all that. Been there (numerous times!) having to ride home with broken bones. 😬

Ligaments can be tricky to repair correctly, I have a deformed arthritic left hand thanks to being doored and crap repair work being done. :(

Eesh, that sucks. I really have to commend the nhs, they sorted getting me in for surgery so quickly and looked after me really well when I was in.

Very ‘semi’, the driveside had the outline of the full slot that’s on the nds but is largely filled in so there’s little to no actual adjustment in it. I did think I could just extend the slot and save myself some work but I think a conversion to track ends will be worthwhile.

I prefer track ends too. Dropouts are annoying with fat tyres.

Sadly they bodged re-attaching the tendon at the point of impact and missed work on a PIP joint on another finger. Two weeks after the incident when the swelling was reduced I went back to a hospital as my one knuckles was missing! Several x-rays later they realised I also has a clean break higher up in my hand. I thought it was hurting a lot as I was back riding and trying to use my hand because of work demands! Proper shit-show.

Very fitting. Is the use of the credit card form part of the physio regime?!
Haha, it should. Not been given any physio yet, fingers crossed it’s out of this cast and onto that kind of thing as of Thursday.

I’ve also got a 2.35 Spesh Ground Control on the way to go with one I already have and a set of glow in the dark Ourys which definitely aren’t period correct but I couldn’t resist.

I’ll either bend up a flat bar or I may have a pre-made riser bar I can use.
