1986 Raleigh Sirocco

Just decided to get into Road cycling and always preferred the look of classic road bikes. I didn’t want to spend too much money and found this locally for £80. The gearing was ridiculous for where I live (very hilly)- 52-42, 13-21 which I’ve changed for 52-39, 12-28 which now means I can get up the hills. New saddle, new ( old) pedals with toe clips and brake lever hoods added. Original Shimano Golden Arrow groupset and Weinman brakes. Rides like an absolute dream and it’s in pretty great condition, a few little bits of rust to touch up. Weighs in at 10kg exactly.

At £80 an absolute bargain, had one of these BITD and it rode fantastically.

Lovely thing and a very good price. I've had the earlier one which didn't have Reynolds tubing but was built in the old Carlton works as if it had and still have the later one that is 531 and both are superb machines so I expect this one will be just as good.
