1986/87 Eddy Merckx Corsa Extra SLX Steel Frame. Size 57cm
I bought the frame 5 years ago from a Dutch collector but it has always been been a bit small so it has just sat on the wall of my garage looking pretty. I’m selling some of my collection and this deserves to be ridden so I sadly have to let it go.
The frame is in excellent condition. It is in very rare Faema Colours with stunning pearlescent white and candy red metallic paint job. There are a couple of paint chips on the non drive side chain stay but for a 30 year old bike it is in great condition. The chrome work is also bright and smooth. Decals are all present and in good condition. The frame is straight and has no rust.
The bike has been built up with top end period parts all of which are functioning beautifully and were serviced when the bike was professionally built. The spec is as follows:
Chainset: Dura Ace
Front derailleur: Dura Ace
Rear derailleur: Dura Ace
Shifters: Dura Ace STIs (1st Gen)
Seat Post: Campagnolo Record
Saddle: San Marco Regal* (brown suede with copper rivets.)
Stem: Cinelli XA 110mm
Bars: Cinelli Giro Italia 64-42
Headset: Campagnolo
Pedals: Campagnolo Aero pedals with clips (one dust cap missing)
Hand built Wheels: Shimano 600 hubs laced to Wolber TX rims
Bar tape: Fizik with chrome Cinelli plugs
*the current Saddle could be swapped out for an original San Marco Regal Girardi leather saddle
The frame size is:
Top tube 57cm c to c
Seat tube 57cm c to t
Head tube 15cm
This would suit a 5’8 to 6’ rider.
