1985 Gios Professional neoretro project *finished page 6*

Re: 1985 Gios Professional neoretro project

The blue is the only colour for a gios it'd look amazing! Try rolling the bars back a little before you give up on them it makes a big difference, looking forward to watching this one progress. :)

Right you are AndyMart, rolling back the bars till the ends point to the rear axle is mostly the most comfy way.

Re:

Bars arrived today & they are great :)

I have decided as soon as we have moved house it will be stripped and taken for a trip to rourke cycles for its new paint :) hopefully only a couple of weeks away now.

Re:

Update:-

She has now been completely stripped down, removed the headset cups yesterday & was excited to find that the Shimano 600 headset was a sealed headset. Finding this out has saved me a bit of money.

Decals arrived last week & they are fantastic quality.

I'm taking it over to Brian Rourke cycles on Sunday for them to do the paintwork.

Another quick update:-

Frame has been away for a couple of weeks, just waiting for the call to say it's ready.

I have purchased the following parts:
Campag veloce ultratorque chainset
Campag veloce FD & RD
Campag centaur carbon brifters

Can't wait to get it back & rebuilt.

Well, that lasts longer than I ever thought. I'm curious about the paintjob, good luck.

Re:

Just read the thread from start to finish. Lovely bike. No point me commenting on colour choice as it's gone to paint already and i cant wait to see what you decided on. Whatever the colour it's going to look trick with those chrome front forks. How good did they come up as well!!

I like your choice of wheels. They really suit the bike.

I'm going to enjoy following this thread. Just out of interest, how did it end up as a Rourke if it's a Gios??

I ended up finding a premixed blue that Rourke has which matches photos quite well.

As for how it got painted as a Rourke, I can only imagine someone didn't know what they had & Rourke did the refinishing & suggested their own stickers.
