The tin foil trick always works a treat when it's first stages rust spots and those forks have come up very nicely. I think black would look marvelous with a DA group. As for the seat post, there's various stages. First one I try is to soaking the area around the post with something like plusgas. This may mean removing the BB, hanging the frame upside down and then soaking with product for 48 hours. If that doesn't work then your heading down the road of brute force / cutting it out / caustic soda - the latter two I've never needed to do but there's quite a few threads on the forum from folks who have had all sorts of hassle with stuck seat posts. Good look with the bike, always interesting to see how these projects turn out.
