Re: When is a Stumpjumper not a Stumpjumper? When it’s a Canyon
So, twenty days on and the Canyon hasn’t got from West to East Yorkshire yet... I know it’s a big county
Apparently Paisley freight have fallen out wth TNT so it’s sat al this time in their depot... on its way now but I’m nervous that it’s spent so much time being chucked around by shitkickers
TNT has to be one of the worst courier companies I’ve ever had the misfortune to use.
Eight weeks have now gone by since paying for the Canyon, which for various reasons hadn’t been sent, I finally got bored of this so drove over to Blackpool to pick it up myself… :|
Anyway, it’s safe now, and not a moment too soon as it’s a lot more distressed than the photos I'd seen had led me to believe. The roughage is cosmetic only, but I had hoped to keep the original paint and graphics only now I’m not so sure…. I won’t make my mind up though until I’ve given it a proper clean and removed some of the stuck on nasty stuff.
Silver lining though is it may well be one of the first batch from October/November 1984, all the original kit is stamped September 1984 which I know doesn’t tell the whole story, but if it had been stamped 1985 I wouldn’t even consider ’84. Anyway, the frame number photo has been spun around the world to some other Claud nuts I know to garner their opinion.
Cheers Mark, but I’ve already bagged the correct one piece bullmoose bars from the good old USA, they got here a damn sight quicker than the bike did!
Only things I’m missing are the hubs and front mech
